Amp for TV sound help please.

Active Member
Following the purchase of an LG OLED I have discovered I can no longer connect my TV to my amp as the telly only has optical out. I am therefor in need of an amp to give me TV sound and music (feeding MA RS6). I apologise if this is in the wrong section as I am not wanting a full blown AV amp. What is something like the Yamaha WXA 50 like do you reckon? Any other thoughts? Budget is £500 and I don't mind used.

Not all TVs have a headphone socket & even if yours does, there may be times when you want to listen through the TV speakers. All you need is a DAC. A budget offering from Beresford or Cambridge Audio will come in at less than half your budget for replacing the amp. This may also improve a CD player &/or games console if you have one.

You could even try one of the real cheapies on Amazon from as little as a tenner.
