Looking to improve the sound of My TV, have been reading to the forums and have been looking at the Sony STR-DA2400ESB. Will this be simple to set up and is it a good way to start. I Have a Sony Bravia tv KDL40EX503, Sky HD and a SONY HDX870 DVD Recorder. I have not looked at any speakers yet ,but if you can suggest some or an alternative way to go then thanks.

The STRDA2400ES would be a very good amp to start off with and is a lot better than the newer amps currently selling for the same money.

I'd suggest the following speaker packages:
Q Acoustics 1010i 5.1 Black | 5.1 Speaker Package | Richer Sounds

or this Tannoy package with the TS8 sub:
Tannoy Mercury 5.1 AV Lite Home Theatre Speaker Package

or with a slighly better TS10 sub, but only available in dark oak for the same money:
TANNOY MERCURY F1 CUSTOM 5.1 SPEAKER SYSTEM - available from Superfi UK Visit http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/page/moreinfo.cfm/product_id/7317 for details

There's also a cheaper Tannoy Mercury option that only includes the SFX sub:
