I wouldnt go by the picture on the site, Play and SendIt will both be selling the UK release and will be the same one (either both combo or not combo, I think the later).

I've emailed the sales team @ Sendit.com to confirm what format they will be selling.....even if its the straight HD DVD version that's still £2 cheaper than the rest.

Let you know what they Sendit.com say

May go with Amazon UK :smashin:

The US will be a Combo with the Theatrical version on the HD DVD side and the Directors/Extended cut on the DVD side.

I dont believe, form what I have read, the UK one will be a Combo (wherever its ordered from), but have no idea which version it will be.

    Guys,

Looks like the SD - 2-disc director's cut/extended version (R2) will be out at the same time as the UK HD DVD version (10 March 2008):

For example, woolies are advertising it now for £12.97:

    http://www.woolworths.co.uk/web/jsp/product/index.jsp?pid=50975580

Here's a DVDtimes article about the extended version (showing artwork for Woolworths promotion interestingly)

    http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=66801

    Question is, do you:

    1. Buy the US HD DVD Combo version released in February with standard cut on HD DVD side & extended cut on SD side (R1) £17.99 MT

    2. Buy the (R1) 3-disc extended cut version (http://www.dvdpacific.com/item.asp?ID=911025) £14 plus delivery

    3. Wait until March for UK HD DVD (? version - interestingly amazon says the length of the HD DVD is the same as the extended SD version - 151 minutes - could it be that the UK HD DVD version is the extended cut unlike the standard US HD DVD version?) £14.99 Amazon (free super-saver delivery too)

    4. Wait until March for UK SD (R2) (2-disc extended version) £13 woolies?

    The decision is yours?

    Guys,

Can anyone confirm please whether the UK HD DVD release is the theatrical or extended cut?

The US release is a combo - HD DVD side gets the ordinary theatrical cut while the DVD side gets the extended director's cut.

What's on offer for the UK HD DVD version released in March?
