Whats the difference between American & Canadian R1 dvd's then.

Is it true that play only sell Canadian R1 disc's.

No real differences, just little niggles really.

Canadian titles normally (although not always) have a French Soundtrack, this normally means that the English 2.0 soundtrack is dropped for the French 2.0 (a la' LOTR)

The covers are starting to appear more and more as bi-lingual, which can look 'strange', especiall if you are building a collection (The Canadian cover for Criterions TRAFFIC was pants and does not match the rest of Criterions covers, although this was fixed for The Royal Tenenbaums).

On a very few disks some extras are missing but this is very rare.

Play usually sell canadian versions as they are cheaper. Places like MovieTyme will sell you the US version but it costs a bit more.
