can someone tell me the difference between an
amd athlon 64bit cpu and a
amd sempron 64 bit cpu

Hi BigDavie!

the Sempron is a budget version of the 64bit architecture, and I'm sure there's only the one 64 bit sempron available.

It'll probably run at a lower clock speed and have less onboard cache.

This may not be a definitive answer though!

Sempron is the Athlon's younger brother, it has less L2 cache and runs at a slower clock speed, there ar e a few variants and they're only being made for Socket 754 now though you'll probably find some Socket A ones floating about.
