Anyone know what the best motherboard is at the moment for the AMD 64 chips ? Is it worth waiting for the next socket to come out do you think ? (I believe socket 939 is due out soon).

Normal users won't find a difference I don't think between 754 and 939 except single or duel channel memmory. I think the 939 socket launches in about 1-2 weeks so I'd say 6 weeks for general availability. If it were me I'd not bother to wait. The MSI K8N Neo Platinum HERE looks very good.

You could do worse than try out the Asus K8V Deluxe. It's not the highest performing board on the market but it does offer good features and layout. In addition, from what I hear it's pretty stable as well. Pick one up for around £90.
