Just found out that I might be able to get my hands on an AMC A200 power amp. It is a "surplus to requirements amp" from a sound system of a school hall!

    Quote from the user quide:
"Congratulations on your choice of stereo power amplifiers - you have purchased one of the finest stereo amplifiers on the market today. This unit was developed using the expertise of professional sound engineers and working musicians. You will find that your new A Series has superior performance and greater flexibility than any other amplifiers in its price range."
Seems rather similar to a Crown XLS amp. Current models retail for around £250 however this is probably around 5 years old and has 3/4 inch phone jacks for the input signal and SpeakON connectors for the speakers!

Initially would be just used for a pair of rear atmos speakers (Anthony Gallo Nucleus) with a Marantz SR7010 amp. If the amp is good enough might use it for Front L&R main speakers instead.

    Thanks

I think the balanced Phoenix input may be a challenge and yes great value for £250

Thankfully the amp is an older revision and has 3/4" phone sockets for inputs. Though annoyingly SpeakOn connectors for the speakers. So would need some unusuall interconnects and Speakon plugs!

Major benefit is hopefully can get for free or not more than £50!
