      Thanks, Cas!
Binge-watched it over the weekend and your review is spot on :smashin:

Can't describe how much Amazon annoys me with their UHD stuff. I searched for a UHD version but was unsuccessful and thought that there just isn't one...

Watched the first episode with SWMBO last night, and apart from a good showing of British actors and actresses, we thought it dire, and won’t be bothering with more episodes. We couldn’t work out what audience it was aimed at. Is for adults, older children? No idea. Is it a drama, a comedy? Again, no idea.

One of my favourite, by far, books as a youngish fellow. A thoroughly belly laugh inducing romp through nonsense.

I hope they haven’t killed it.

Thanks for binge watching it for us @Casimir Harlow :D
3 episodes in so far and I'm enjoying it. More than American Gods for sure. I only recently read the book (in the past couple of years) so it's still fairly fresh in my mind and I like what they've done with it so far, although I do have an element of distraction where my mind is recognising bits from the book and trying to remember what happens next.

I'd dearly love to know why Amazon hid the UHD version so much. It was like the 6th result after searching for Omens (the first being normal HD and then some of the Omen films).
Who over there is in charge of the app experience?

I enjoyed this and agree it was a bit of palava finding the 4k HDR version. Initially it wasn't available on the ATV 4K so I watched the first 2 on my LG Prime App (which was 4k HDR) and the last 4 on my ATV. Btw has anyone watched this on a device that supports HDR10+ (e.g. Samsung).
I thought the 4K HDR was great - there was some fantastic fire effects that were very impressive. As stated in the review the chemistry between the leads made the show. But I also enjoyed some of the supporting cast, e.g. Anathema Device. I read the book years ago but from memory I thought it was pretty faithful - George

Tip for finding UHD stuff on Amazon...go to the Amazon website on a PC (not a phone or the app), search for it there, click on it and add it to your watchlist that way.
Still a ball ache but much easier than searching for it on an app...

I've learnt to just search "NAME UHD" on the TV app and find it that way. Previous attempts at searching for just the name of the show or name + 4K yielded no joy, but this appears to do the trick.

So I couldn't find Good Omens 4K anywhere on the front page or channel options, but searching for "Good Omens UHD" popped it up straight away.

Figured this out the hard way after watching half of The Expanse in HD.

100% right in saying it has a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy flavour to it. Have yet to watch the final episode but I can't imagine how or where they intend to take this series though I hope they do as it was very entertaining.

Can’t believe it’s in UHD! Just watched the first 3 episodes cursing Amazon!! Will look for that tomorrow, cheers!

Review is right about the chemistry between Sheen and Tennant, absolutely brilliant!

I will give this a go, recently saw Sheen in The Good Fight (Season 3) as Martin Blum. He was off the charts, completely bonkers and I loved it.

Will report back once I bash this in a day or two.. Tennant given the right script is always on cue so both of them together will be interesting to watch.

      Peace.

Sheen is as good in this. And Tennant is channeling Bill Nighy. My favourite scene of the whole show is the first scene of episode 5. It really struck a chord and parallels how Gaiman felt on the passing of Pratchett, and Tennant does a stellar job of conveying it.

Looking forward to catching up with this. Hopefully significantly better than Sky's Discworld adaptations.

Cheers dude, I feel a binge is heading my way. My genre is normally the dark side of humanity but willing to give anything a go given the cast, script and acting is on cure. :D
I just finished off Catch 22 with Clooney in it, based on the book. That was awesome.

It's probably the best adaption we could have hoped for. Sheen and Tennant hold it together. Episode 3 is just a great romp with the show utilising their chemistry to the fullest.
I do hope this leads to more Pratchett adaptions, especially for the ever in pre-production The Watch TV series.

There are some nice Easter eggs in the show too. My favourite being a radio interview with a man from the electricity board. Which is a multi layered Easter egg.

Terry Pratchett used to work for the electricity board. Paul Kaye does the voice of the spokesman as an impression of Terry.. Paul Kaye played Terry in the BBC documentary Back in Black.

I'm on third episode. I read the book years ago and I'm remembering more of it as this series plays out. I'm enjoying Tenant and Sheen, the Angel and Demon chemistry was amazing in the book, so I'm glad they nailed this aspect. However, I agree with some others that it does err on the side of kids TV at times, probably a side affect of its fantastical nature and poor cgi..

What's more, if anyone is watching HDR and wanted subtitles, they simply burn the eyes out. Either full brightness white or full brightness yellow. Horrible.

The Death should speak caps, only could be such a great Easter egg too.

Finished it last night. 6/10 for me.

I couldn't put my finger on why I didn't enjoy it more, it was decent but nothing really grabbed me.

If it was meant to be a comedy, I didn't find much of it funny.
If it was meant to be for adults, at times it seemed like a kids TV show, yet if it was meant to be for kids, there was too much use of 'big' swear words (like f***).
Most of the actors did a great job (only one I found a bit irritating was Jack Whitehall but I find that a lot with him).

Edit: Cas's use of the word lightweight sums up the series really IMO.

I watched it over 2 days (stuck indoors following knee surgery)
Thought Sheen and Tennant where so good together that when they were not on screen it certainly dipped in quality.
But it did take me a while to find the uhd link on amazon they really need to sort it out but in all l enjoyed it l would give it 8/10
