Amazon Pricing?

Has anyone got any idea as how Amazon fix their pricing, there has been numinous times when looking to buy, only to find over a period of time their prices change considerably.

I ask as I have been looking at a Tamron 24-70mm F2.8 VC USD for a little while now and its gone from as much as £801 to £749, but early in the week it went down to £649!! So clicked to buy and with me being VAT free I got it for £547. The price of £649 was only there for about 2 hours and ever since its been at £799.
Not complaining just a little curious

Prices change as the supplier changes.

Unlike many retailers, Amazon's pricing is very dynamic and can change by the hour, yet alone the day.
Because of the huge amount of traffic they get, they will price aggressively according to the level of interest, demand, stock, availability, etc, of the product.
