Amazon invites users to decide which TV pilots become full Series

Amazon's desire to keep up with the Netflix's has shone through with its move to produce content of its own to be shown exclusively through the Prime Instant Video streaming services.

The internet giant has taken things a step further, however, by inviting users to participate in a vote on a number of pilot TV shows currently available to watch, for free, through the service. In total, Amazon has put up 14 pilots for customer feedback.

Based on reactions and reviews, Amazon Studios production company will then decide which projects to make into full TV series to be shown on Prime Instant Video.

The shows include a range of comedy and kids TV programming and Amazon is obviously concious that it needs to offer its customers more than just old shows and movies to keep them happy.

Netflix has had recent success with its own original content with Lilyhammer and House of Cards and, last Friday (19th April launched another in the shape of Hemlock Grove.
