Amazon Firestick 5.1 sound delay

Hi hope you can help I'm about to give up on this one. Sorry I'm not too techy but I've tried a few things as follows.

I have the latest Firestick model (non 4k) and there is a very slight sound delay when using aps with 5.1. including Netflix and Amazon Prime video

My setup:
TV - Panasonic TX-50DX750B.
Sonos Play bar, Sub and 2x Play 1's connected via optical cable directly to the TV

5.1 Netflix and Bluray DVD's work fine through the Xbox One X.

I have the Firestick plugged in to the ARC HDCP 2.2 hdmi socket

TV sound menu is set to Bitstream

I seen an older post where someone said to turn Dolby digital off on the Firestick Settings. If I do this then sound is working fine in stereo 2.0 with no delay. Netflix does not give the option then to use 5.1 audio.

Through the Smart TV Netflix app, 5.1 sound works fine with no delay

Tried Firestick factory reset but still nothing resolves the problem with 5.1 sound delay so far.

Tried my dad's same model Firestick and it has the same problems. Tried the new 4K Firestick and same problems.

It's bugging me so much as I use the Firestick as my only remote now and it's the only thing I can't get right. I have to use the TV remote for the smart app Netflix as a workaround and we use Netflix a lot.

Really hoping you guys can help as I'm beginning to think it's the TV. But then why would the Xbox be ok? There has to be something I've missed!

Unfortunately ARC is not a uniform standard. There are differences based on the hardware and audio sources which can cause audio delays.

Does the FireTV have any audio delay options in its settings, if no then your only other option would be PCM 5.1 audio and that would require a HDMI input which the Play bar doesn't have.

Does the Sonos have audio delays options if yes that could be a fix but it would apply to everything not just the FireTV.

Thanks for the reply. There is no so option to change the audio delay on the TV. Sonos has one but it doesn't change it enough.

Is there a switch or something I could possibly buy that might help?

Unless the Play bar has a direct input be it HDMI or optical your out of luck.

You can buy HDMI audio extractors like this for optical.
