Less than impressed with the service from these people on my first DVD order. Order was placed last friday (16th Jan - item in stock). Sent them an email this week to ask why it had'nt been despatched yet. The reply was an apology and basically agreeing that it had been delayed; but nothing to actually indicate it would be sorted!. Nearly a week later now and the item has changed status to 'Dispatching Soon'. Maybe in few days it might be uprated to say 'wont be long now'.

I've had better service from Splash.

All of my recent orders from Amazon have gone that way.

Strange, I've always had good/great service from Amazon .. I ordered 6 DVDs last week and they arrived 2 days later as expected.

"Dispatching Soon" means it's being picked IMX.

Better service from Spash? ... that must have been one of their rare cock-ups. :D

Just got a confirmation that its on its way - exactly a week after ordering. Still pretty poor, but i'll try them again for another couple of boxsets (cheapest anywhere, or i wouldnt)

Same here. Until recently. For example a Darkness single I pre-ordered (3 weeks previous) entered despatching soon three days AFTER release then sat there for a week.

When I phoned up to cancel they had no idea what was happening. They agreed to cancel but it took another 3 emails to get them to remove it as despatching soon.

Hopefully it's just a post-Christmas/New Year glitch in their supplies.

I received stuff last week OK and haven't had a problem with them before, so I think it's worth giving them another go.

I ordered a box set from them last thing Friday 16th. Got email of despatch on the Sunday, and Parcelforce turned up midday on the Monday.
That was using the free shipping option too, which they warned could take longer.
Was very impressed. Maybe you were just unlucky.

I ordered Futurama S3 (now £8 cheaper :( ) and used their free shipping option. I got them two days later (have had stuff in 24 hours before). This was the first week of January.

I have always had excellent service from them.

Just got my boxset of x files 7 from them. No trouble with delivery times. Shame about the box set. Tattered box with all discs covered in fingerprints and scratches. less than chuffed.

Clearly someone taking advantage of their no quibble 30 returns policy after the've watched it.

Have emailed them for replacement. Anyone know if they will send out replacement seeing as mine is damaged. Or do I have to pay costs to return and then get a replacement.

I got season 6 of the x files from them and two discs had minor scratches. The discs play fine though.

    Was your season 7 sealed?

Never had any problems with Amazon.co.uk, all my pre-orders have been dispatched on the date of release and arrived a couple of days later (all using the free delivery offer). The most recent order being a week or so ago.

I have 3 boxsets on order due for release in February: Special Branch, Jonathan Creek and The Sweeney, so I shall be interested to see how they work out.

Just to say that in my experience Amazon are as good as it gets in terms of internet customer service - if you have any problems I am certain they will replace/refund with no postage charges... Also I have always found them to be lightening quick in terms of delivery - usually next day - UNLESS you have chosen free postage which is not a first class delivery. If you want it next day you have to pay the usual P&P price...

Package was sealed, but discs had clearly had been used. And when I opened the fold out inlay the discs ran from right to left.

Got a response to my email and they have ordered a new set and give me a freepost add to use. So customer service seems ok. First time I've used them though.
