Hi, maybe I'm just impatient but I ordered MIBII from them and I've been told that it shipped on the 8th January.

It hasn't arrived yet! There estimated delivery time is between 20th Feb and 6th of March!

The last thing I ordered from them was BOB and that had an estimated delivery of two months but it arrived in 4 days!

Is anyone else waiting for an order from them that is taking ages or should I assume it's got lost or has been grabbed by customs!

I ordered something from amazon.com on Jan 8, it was shipped on the same day and the estimated arrival date was between 22-27 Jan it arrived this morning, two days late. I don't have a problem with that.

He's talking about amazon in Canada not the US store.
Their cheapest shipping option is based on delivery times up to 5 weeks. I've got several orders with them and the first to be posted was sent last Monday and hasn't arrived yet. Then again, if i wasn't prepared for the possibility of waiting 5 weeks for it I wouldn't choose the cheapest shipping option.

I went for the 2nd delivery option which should take 7days. I had BOB in 2 days. You should be able to track your parcel from their website. If you check your confirmation email from them there's a number to allow you to track your package. I followed mine all the way to the UK.

I think you can only track your item if you pay for the dearer shipping option.

My dvd was posted on Jan 7th and its still not hear But i did choose the cheap delivery option which is surface mail - so i'm guessing its coming to me by Boat - my tracking list has an estimated delivery of Mid feb. Oh well not to long to wait :)

I ordered LOTR boxed set when it came out early Nov.

Went for cheapest delivery - they said between Jan 1st to 20th!! to arrive

It actually arrived within a week of ordering - along with a nice hefty sticker on it from customs.

Probably wouldn't use them again though for boxed sets - disc came in this massive cardboard box with 'amazon.ca' plastered all over it - customs couldn't really miss it.

I purchase many DVDs and CDs from Canada and in general the postal service from Canada is much better than the US postal service. If you go with the cheapest delivery method (in order to avoid VAT and other charges) which is how I order then it can take between one and four weeks.

I would recommend not ordering more than one at a time as you are then more likely to avoid customs charges ;)

So you paid about £10 to DHL for declaring your package to customs. I always make sure that DVDs and CDs are delivered by mail so as to avoid this problem ...a least if the package is caught by customs you will not pay a handling charge.

The parcel arrived this morning, it appears to have had a hard life! Covered in what appears to be oil stains!

The contents are safe though and no customs charges! (Total value was over $60 canadian)

Thanks for the feedback, I hope you get yours today too, Captaineyepatch!

I know this thread started off about Amazon.ca but similiar delays are encountered sometimes from Amazon.us.
I ordered XXX and Minority Report on 07 Jan 03 with an estimated delivery time of Jan 27 - Feb 06. Still awaiting delivery!
Have made two purchases with them since then and have already had delivery so I guess its luck of the draw! All these with standard post.
Has anyone any experience of lost items from Amazon, what is their policy on non-arrivals?

A year ago I ordered a book to the value of Euro 200 ( a very specialised book) and it did not arrive within the specified period. When I contacted them they discovered that the book was no longer available and within 7 days they refunded to my credit card. Two months later the book arrived but when I informed them they did not charge me.

I would not believe you have got away with custom charge, i did, only to get billed months later. I will not order from amazon again, i thought a saving was to be had with free shipping...Wrong!

I've got 4 orders with amazon.ca and after a month the first to ship still hasn't arrived, and the second's been 3 weeks so far.
Personally, for the sake of saving (literally) a couple of quid, I don't think it's worth the extra weeks in transit. Reckon I'll stick to my usual suppliers in future
