Amateur question about the placement of a sub

Is it ok to place under my desk? The thing is I have a monitor aswell as a ps3 and a 360 on a desk, and i've heard that you should place a sub too close to such electronics, is this true?

it should be fine under your desk what it means is not exactly next to the equipment as subs have a magnetic field.

also it depends on how powerful, big the subwoofer is.

i think you can get magnectically sheilded subwoofers, i think the downfireing ones are best for that.

but enough of that yeah it should be fine to place under your desk.

I have it set up like this, the insructions say to keep it 60cm away from the monitor but my set up is more like 40 cm away, should i move the sub?
