I've got my knock-up HTPC up and running with a passive HID 2600 Pro GPU and an AMD x2 4400. So far so good but my temps are very high with the stock cooler (I think it may have been for a lowered powered CPU). Temps are reaching 65-70 under general use so better cooling is definitely needed.

Space is limited in this smallish case so nothing tall will fit. Does anyone have something that would fit the bill? Preferably quiet with 4 pin fan / copper based heatsink.

    Thanks

    Location: Torfaen, Wales

I'll need to see if fits first as it looks pretty big on stock photos. I'll check tomorrow after work and get back to you?

Thanks David - if there's enough clearance that'd be an ideal choice.

I've fished out an old copper based ak856 from. 939 board. That should help in the mean time.

These amd chips run quite hot it seems!

I'm currently using it in a htpc so it should fit the bill for you in terms of height clearance.
