Looks pretty damn fine. What's the damage on that, though, £3000?

Oh dear, someone needs to be admitted to the psychiatric ward !!! :rotfl:

The picture you've posted is tiny ! Basically it's just the same looking as the HD-D45 but bigger.

    Mark_a :hiya:

http://www.plasma-television.co.uk/sagem-axium-hdd56b-inch-p-185.html are doing it for £2650.

There's also a link there to download the pdf file or it's available on the Sagem website :smashin:

Having looked at the brochure I'm somewhat surprised to see no HDMI port and only twin analogue tuners. Seems a bit short sighted, especially on the lack of Freeview. I know it's not the end of the world on either of them, but you'd have thought Sagem would have gone the extra few feet at this stage in the game.

    Regards

The DVI port covers all the necessary video resolution for HDMI compatibility.

HaHaHa - you're the first then!!!!

56" been delayed, was due early next-week but now more likely to be the end of next-week. So I imagine first deliveries Monday week if all goes ahead OK.

    Razors Bigger Screen Campaign
    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

No mater what screen size you have you will always get accustomed to it in the end. Therefore one must increase screen size as when new technology arrives.

This is the current formula I am following. So far its working really well :smashin:

On a serious note tho, we need bigger displays. :D

    Kourosh :hiya:

Its a how allot of divx movies are backed up these days. You can unpack them with a MPEG modifier, this can take around 5 mins each movie.

If you try and play packed bit stream it may not work at all or play back maybe jerky.

I have a Divx thread in the dvd section of the forums. Theres loads of info in there.

I almost convinced my wife that we should get this set, but looking at the pictures of the D56 on it's stand it really looks too high. Any idea whether the stand could be easily modified to look like this:

    :hiya:

Try these people for stands, you can design any height you require.

    http://www.optimum2000.com/

I have the one in the middle the premeir excel plus (slighly deeper and wider than the normal stand)

    http://www.optimum2000.com/premier.html

I got mine from Peter Tyson for £500 which was £100 cheaper than retail.

    Try this alternative.

A recent test match in a Home Cinema mag gave this rack 5 out of 5 stars. Absolutely raved about it. It beat a couple of glass and chrome AV dedicated racks costing £300+. I was quite taken with it as it is nice and low compared to most AV racks.

Their test stated it will safely support a 100kg load (higher than Ikea's stated 70kg).

They also said that for best acoustic isolation use the top or base thicker shelves to suport the more sensitive equipment rather than the thinner adjustable shelves.

The adjutable shelves can be put in the centre section too.

Looks like the Sagem 56 incher is going to be my Xmas prezzy from me to me this year, so this rack will be just the job.

At 50cm deep it can easily accommodate my huge Pioneer AX5Ai-S AV amplifier with no overhang at front or back. With the screen on top, I can fit the AV amp in one side, my DVD player and recorder in the other side and my centre speaker and Freeview box in the middle.

    :smashin:

My parents have this one. I have just finished cutting 15cm off and unscrewing the legs. With the legs and the 15cm the image was just to high with a 55" DLP. Will reassemble the whole thing tomorrow after the glue has dried. The glass front can't be used anymore or has to be cut.

    Get thee behind me Satan!!!

I have had major bad luck with Sony TVs over the years, and found their backup / customer care to be virtually non-existent, so won't be buying a Sony I'm afraid mate. :(

    Who's doing the RD 65?
