What is the competition to the KEF KHT2005 sub/sat package in that price range? Say around £700, and apart from the FS2's.

    b&w vm1 speakers are nice

also, try searching the forum for 'gallo' as some members were talking about some new small speakers that were supposed to be good.

Focal/Jm Labs have just broguht out a sub-sat system similar in size to the Eggs but much better sounding. The sub is much better than th KEF which is rather poor for the money.

I forget the name of the JM's but the sub is called a Cub, price for a 5.1 system is around £850.

Edit: It is the Sib for the satellites. They are lovely speakers, gave them a run today. The finish on the Cub sub is lovely, kinda furry plastic velvety paint finish.

Just curious Noman, why do you prefer the Boston micros to the Gallo micros?

    Cheers.

Have you considered the Aego P5? It's had some fantastic reviews recently but I doubt it will be as good as the Kef Eggs with a good amp.

Thanks for those guys. Don't know a great deal about speaker packages to tell you the truth, but I'll start with the ones y'all mentioned.

There doesn't seem to be a great deal of choice out there though, which is probably why you consistently hear about FS2's and KEF's.

They are brighter, louder and not so "directional" wich suits me.

Don´t take me wrong, if you are "aligned with the soundfield" Gallo sounds fantastic at moderate sound levels
