i had set my heart on the pioneer DV 656a as it seems a excellent all round player, however it has no pro scan ability. As this will eventually be hooked up to a plasma i feel this is a facility that would benefit. could someone suggest an appropriate alternative.

    many thanks

The UK 656 does not include NTSC prog scan. The 757 does (It's an extra £300 though).

If Prog Scan is for you then check out the threads about the Philips 963
