I bought a Dell Studio 13 XPS back in March last year after waiting nearly 6 months for them to come out. At the time I liked the idea of an extremely powerful machine, with some gaming potential, in a small and stylish body.
First impressions when it tured up were great, but then all the problems started. It's turned out to be an absolute nightmare. In Dell's defence the technical support was very courteous and swift, they just couldnt fix anything!
In the end I realised I had to try to send it back, which proved a bit of a battle but yesterday they agreed to fully refund me for the laptop and the £100 9cell battery I bought when it came out a few months later.
Now I'll have about £1200 to spend on a replacement.
Key thing along with power and performance is battery life, the Dell with the 9cell battery would last over 6 hours of web browsing in the standard graphics mode. I want something that lasts at least 4.
I'm open to different sizes but I don't want it to weigh too much, it becomes a drag when carting it around a lot along with peripherals and charger etc.
Finally and this may come as a surprise, does anyone have a new build 13XPS, are they over all the early problems?
