Anyone seen or used the Alpine Blackbird Sat Nav?

A dealer my Dad uses has been raving about it to him. I'd never heard of it but looked it up. Expensive but smart and just wondered if anyone had seen it in the flesh or used it in anger?

If i go portable sat nav this is what I will get. I already have the Alpine IVA100 which when used with the blackbird and docking station then uses the HU's display, meaning you can leave the unit in the glovebox and control everything from the HU.

Well, to answer my own question. I have seen it.

Looks very smart but the build quality doesn't seem to match up to the looks. Seems quite plasticky.

Easy to look up destinations. Quick too.

Crap directions and lost the GPS signal three times on the way from Victoria to Brixton.

Not great, needless to say gave it back to the shop that I was demoing it from.

Not worth the money. Now what to get?
