Guess Alphason make the stand for Denon speaker system jusging by the way they look but it seem steh Denon stands cost nearly twice the price.

Needing some stands and was just wondering if they are the same or if Aplphason can be used as don't wanna pay nearly twice the price for the same thing.

Does anyone know or can anyone recommend stands for use with Denon speakers that come with 500 or 550 system?

    Thanks in advance.

Someone said here that they are the same stands but without the special attachment for the Denon stands, which you need to secure the speakers.

Had it confirmed from Alphason and looks like will have to pay 60 quid for the Denon compared to 35 quid for the Alphason

Alphason SS20 speaker stands (silver, £25 at Argos) can easily be modified to fit Denon DHT500SD or 550SD system supplied speakers. It took me less than 30 minutes to do the pair.

You will need: - A file; A hacksaw; 2 of 20mm long M5 machine screws (the supplied ones are just too short); 2 M6 steel washers.

    1. Cut the lug off the universal bracket and file the end flat and square.
    2. Put an M6 washer in the socket of the universal bracket and locate it snugly against the lip that the stand shaft end would but against. (My washer fitted perfectly but you may need to file yours to fit)
    3. Screw the universal bracket to the underside of the speaker at the rear fixing point with the M5 screw. Make sure the screw is centrally located to enable the stand shaft to fit nicely over the screw head and locate on the washer.
    4. Thread the speaker wires thro’ the stand shaft and fit the universal bracket and speaker.

Easy Peasy! - and doesn’t cost £59.95. What a rip off.

I am looking at the Alphason RS10s which I believe are suitable for the Denon SD500 speakers without modification, can anyone confirm this. I have spoken to a local retailer who said that they are ok but another opinion is always welcome.

    Thanks

Hi Matty, on another thread on here if you have not read it that Digital Direct are selling these stands for £37.50.

Have the stands myself and they are OK at medium height but at full height they seem a bit unstable, OK as long as they are out the way and you have no young children to pull them over.

    HI there
i just asked hifibitz.co.uk the same question, they replied as follows:

No, they will not fit that system, as the stands fixings are intended for the back of satellites, whereas the Denon speakers are mounted from underneath. We can get Denon stands for you at a cost of £50 per pair. They are also called SS30's so when you order, you will have to call our sales team, as they are not on the website. Please be specific that you want the Denon SS30's, not the Alphason, or there may be some confusion!
Atleast its a ten quid cheaper per set

Ended up getting the Denon SS30 stands at 50 quid from Superfi when I picked up the extra speaker I ordered. By the time you add postage the prices off the net were only about a fiver less.

They are a sinch to set up and look alright but don't think they are the most stable stand on carpet.

I have the Alphason RS10s stands for my Denon speakers. They are a perfect fit for only £23.95 a pair.

Has anyone else used these stands?
Are they stable & do they screw into the bottom of the speakers like the ss30's do?
Thank you for the time to answer my question.
