I appreciate that this is a strange idea for a thread, but for the past hour I've been looking all over the net for large wooden alphabet blocks for my son.

We all had them when we were children I'm sure, but all I can find now is tiny versions of those large blocks. I remember each block was 2-3 inches long, but now all that I can find are blocks around 1 inch big. Way to small for 20 month old boy. Also when I read comments on Amazon or ToysRUs, the quality seems to be terrible.

They were everywhere then, now I can't find them anywhere.

Could someone please point me in the direction of a company still selling those large (letters) wooden blocks?

You might get better Search Results if you were to use the Google Shopping Tab on Google.

Go there and click on 'More' and then you'll see it.

Thanks, I have done that too. Still can't find large blocks anywhere in UK.

They are smaller than what I had in mind, but if I can't find bigger ones I'll buy those. The height of the box is 2", so the blocks themselves are probably around 1.5"

    Thank you mate.

Bigger blocks tend to come with a cart / trolley / walker. We have a Winnie the Pooh set in the attic. There's a few online if you search as alphabet blocks walker including amazon, and have a look at The White Company - their set looks fairly large, but pricey

I was looking at some of them on Amazon and still the comments were that they are small and also I don't really need a walker. He already walks, runs, jumps, etc :)

I was just looking at them on Amazon. I don't really like the font and the design (using them as props in photography will be out of the question), but I will probably end up buying them, as I honestly can't see anything else around with a reasonable price tag.

Those are great, but a bit dear.

I've bookmarked them and will show the Mrs tomorrow. Thanks :smashin:

Thanks for all the help folks :smashin:

In the end I ordered something more organic :) Handmade wooden blocks with scortched plain letters. The compromised I made is that they are only 4cm big, but handmade and were quite cheap.

I'll post a picture when I receive it. Thanks
