Hi all, my first post here, although I have been lurking for a while.

I want a personl digital music player, after reading this and other AV forums and doing a bit of searching around I have ALMOST decided on the Iriver H10, WHY?

1 I like the look of it.
    2 No Atrac
3 I like the look of it
    4 Not everyone has one
    5 Price
    6 Colour screen
    7 FM Radio

    In no particular order.

What I havent been able to find out is can I connect it (easily) to my car stereo/pc/tv? Does it charge whilst the USB is plugged in? When is the 6GB one coming out? Should I buy better 'phones?

Lots of Q's i know, but any comments, good or bad, on the Iriver would really help. (or confuse me further :) )

    Many Thanks

    Craig

OK, now I'm in a right pickle, pretty much settled for the Iriver H10, UNTIL, I read comments like these.

"Firstly, the battery life is no where near its 14hrs as stated by the manufacturer. Secondly, the player doesnt even have a STOP button"

"The software is very difficult, still haven't mastered adding tracks, deleting tracks, can't figure out playlists at all."

Trouble is, there is no point me going to the local gadget shops or electrical retailers 'cos the ASSistants know even less than I do!

Anyone here have these kind of gripes on this model?

    :lease:

I don't own one so I have no personal gripes but I've heard a lot of bad things about the H10, particularily on this forum at misticriver.net Here have you checked it out yet. The things on those boards ultimately stopped me buying one.

I understand there are problems with shuffle feature, (quote: "The shuffle feature is pretty much useless ... the shuffle feature will do this: Songs: A B C D E - If it plays randomly, C -> E -> end (it will not continue once it hits the last song, so A B D will not play). ... The shuffle repeat will continue playing but it will repeat songs before other ones have been played. Another pretty much useless feature...") and the play order where albums are only played aplabetically. This is supposed to be being fixed in a firmwear upgrade but I don't know if it has or when it will be?

I've also heard reports of poor construction and wobbly buttons. personally, I'd avoid the H10 like the plague.

    Cheers Hrochnick

    Now I'm FOOKED Pats!!

Well, I want a 4+GB HDD player, with colour screen, at least 8hrs battery life, on the fly encoding, multi format, easy to use, nice looking, reliable, feature rich playback modes and all for less than £200.

So, C'mon, whats my choices chaps????
