Well i would have to say Pro Evo. I dread to think the amount of time i've put in from the first to the newest...

Put it this way, i put over 300 hours into Pro Evo 2008.

Good thread, it has made me think about all the games I have played on various systems through the years!
My games are in no particular order:

    Atic Atac (Spectrum)
    Bubble Bobble (NES)
    TMNT (NES)
    M.A.S.K. (Spectrum)
    Snake, Rattle 'n' Roll (NES)
    Super Mario Kart (Snes)
    Secret of Man (Snes)
    Doom (PC)
    Duke Nukem (PC)
    Street Fighter ii (SNES)
    Unreal Tournament (PC)
    Mario Kart 64 (N64)
    Burnout Paradise (360)

Mmm alot of older systems - i think it is cos they were rock hard back then and I also didn't have alot of cash to buy new games - I had to make do with what i had.

For me it has to be between 3 games...

    Sensible Soccer
    Madden NFL
    Street Fighter 2

I think I must have owned versions of those 3 games over every computer or console I've ever owned & to this day I still play them.

Sensible Soccer is easily my best Football game ever made, so playable & sooo much fun.

Madden being the only NFL game worth playing these days means for my NFL fix I have no other choice but even if there was another game on the market with the NFL license I still think that I'd play Madden over it.
It's been my staple choice ever since it was launched 20 years ago & will continue to be forever more.

Street Fighter 2 what can I say really THE greatest fighter ever created & quite possibly the greatest game ever in my eye's
I didnt think that 17 years later I'd still be returning to the same game but I do doesnt matter what format I have it on if I do fancy playing it I go straight back the SFC original, that to me is the only way to play it.

    F1GP (PC)
    Prince of Persia (PC)

    Doom (PC)
    Wolfenstien 3D (PC)

    Elite (BBC)
Sensible Soccer (Archimedes) - I even had my own simulated leagues!
Tekken 2 (PS1) - Favourite after pub with uni mates
    Wipeout 2097 (PS1)
Mechcommander (PC) - First Multiplayer addiction
Everquest (PC) - First MMORPG, scary games!
Counter Strike (PC) - Broadband opens up whole new addiction!

I think CS was the last game that I really caned, in that it is the only game I really played for over 6 months straight, with no other games getting a look in. Now I tend to play more sporadically and with not so much addiction, too many other things to do.

Would have to be Tetris and Freecell. No other game would have been played as much as those.

The original Wild arms on the ps1 is one of my all time favourite games, it was so unique, yeah it didn't take too long to beat, but it had such a big heart, and the music was so bad ass, the only game that actually made me go and get the soundtrack (well that and Chrono Trigger), I just wish Rudy actually talked more, lol. I spent many years wondering why they chose not to release Wild Arms 2 and Alter code F in the UK

Other games I grew up playing was FF7 and 8, of course, I must say though I spent a lot more time on FF8, mainly due to triple triad, jesus christ I got so addicted to that game, staying up till 2/3am when I had school in the morning lol.

Here is a list of other games I have spent Years of my life on, playing over and over again.

Breath of Fire 1 ( Snes)
Any DKC/DKL Game (Snes, GB, GBA)
    FFMQ (Snes)
Any Pokemon game, from Green- Diamond (GB, GBA)
UMK3 and MKT (snes & PSX)
Lunar SSSC/Lunar EB/Lunar Legend (PSX, GBA)
    RE 1-4 (PSX + PS2)
Any SH game (PSX, PS2, GBA, PC)
The sims (only on pc, really didn't like the console versions)
SoulBlade, Soul Calibur games (PSX, DC, PS2)
    Koudelka (PSX)
    Any Onimusha game (PS2)
Any SF game ( appart from the movie version :suicide:)
PE 1+2 (Wondering why they chose to not release the first game in the UK, but then released number 2.... on a side note, CANT WAIT FOR PE3)
Any Wario Land game appart from the wii games (GB, GBA)
    Super Mario World (Snes, GBA)
    Yoshi's Island (Snes, GBA)
    Killer Instinct (Snes)
    Digimon World 1, 2 (PSX)
Alundra (PSX, Cries at what they did to the second one )
FF Tactics Advance (spent hours and hours and even more hours on this game)
Any Tomb Raider game on the PSX
Any Castlevania game on the GBA

As you can see from the list, when I was younger I never left the house and didn't have a life. (not much has changed, lol)

I feel like playing some of these now, so please excuse me...

    Craig.

    All Descents Descent/Descent2/Descent3(PC)
    Quake variants (PC)
Particularly after I got an Orb
These games became loads of fun with that controller.
Same with with the Mechwarrior/s, though Orb didn't work well here
Dungeon Keeper/s sucked a lot of my time

    I'll show my age now

Original System shock then 2, original Underworld, Thief was a lot of fun same with 2

Way too many imported shooters and cd Rpgs for PCEngine, Turbo in my case.

Same with the imported FF's for SNES

My best mate and I played GoldenEye64 to death. After countless deathmatches we were to close in terms of skill so we mixed it up by splitting the signal to two tvs and covering up the other players half on each tv. :)

Got to a point where we knew where the other player was by the sound of a door, etc. Then we had time trials. We would both start the single player at the same time and see who could finish the game first. lol. Ah the good ol' days.

The Pro Evo series by far, since ISS in the mid 90's onto Pro Evo in about '97, and I still play it a hell of a lot, obviously I'm not sure on total number of hours but I assure you it's an unhealthy amount

Then second (but nowhere near Pro Evo) would be SF2 Turbo on the SNES back in the day, used to play that for hours every night with friends

I can't think of anything that comes close to those two, but probably a distant third Goldeneye on N64, never got into the multiplayer side of things but I was mesmerised by the single player game at the time, played it non stop for months.

    Happy days :)

Championship manager in the 90's, when it was good! I put hours and hours into that. I also got really angry playing that game. I think the new Football Manager games have become far too complicated and much of the enjoyment has been lost. I used to make sure I had scouts that had the full 'find player potential' stat and set them to work, buying young players who turned out to be worl class etc.
Also, Sensible World of Soccer when that first came out on the Amiga. Fantastic.

Sorry about the lateness, I've just found this thread.

    My top games are:-

    Repton 3 (BBC Micro)
I'm in another Repton 3 phase now, playing through all the levels again which isn't bad for a 23 year old game! Although these days I play the PC version as I don't use my real BBC that much. If you've never heard of it you can get a trial copy for the PC from Superior Interactive (I think the full version costs $20), I challenge anybody to complete the FINALE set of levels. If you can, you'll be accomplished player and probably have become addicted as every other Repton fan.

    Elite (Amiga)
I've played various versions of this including the original BBC Micro one, however the Amiga version with the full colour graphics is the best. I've deliberatley not played EVE online as I understand from some of my friends 'if you like Elite you'll love EVE online' and they know I would end up addicted to it and heading to the divorce court!

    GTA Vice City (PS2)
The PS2 game that blew me away, I love the music from the 80s and I've driven around the real city of Miami so this game means a lot to me.

    Street Fighter II (Arcade/SNES)
The arcade version is best but I'll happily take on all-comers at the SNES version as long as I can use my 6 button joystick.

    Outrun (Arcade)
The thought of sitting in an arcade cabinet that moved as you turned the wheel of your Ferrari Testarossa (both the game and the real Ferrari are on my post lottery win shopping list).

    Paradroid (Commodore 64)
This is a wierd one, a lot of people didn't grasp how to play it but I still play it occasionally on the little Commodore 64 thing you can buy in Argos.

    Wizball (Commodore 64)
This is the only game on this list I haven't played in the last few years, I'd have to drag my real Commodore 64 and disk drive out of their boxes to play it properly as it really requires a decent joystick and preferably 2!

    Tetris (Gameboy)
I play the DS version every few weeks and I still own my original gameboy with Tetris.

    Mario Kart (N64)
The best of the Mario Kart games, same gameplay as the SNES version but with better graphics. I've played me mates at this a few times for some post-pub enjoyment.

    Goldeneye (N64)
The best first person shooter I've ever played, it doesn't look as good as the modern ones, but then you're James Bond in this one! This also has a great multiplayer mode as well.

    R-Type (Arcade)
Don't ever be in a hurry and let me play on this in an arcade, I can still recall the attack pattern of every alien on the first 5 of the 8 levels from memory.

    Summer Games II (Commodore 64)
The best of the 'Games' series although California Games is a close second. Back in the day I played a few 8 player games of this, again this is another game that requires 2 joysticks to play properly. We used to have arguments over who could use which joystick (owner took precedence), my Zipstick or original 1983 Kempston Competition Pro 5000 (not the later versions) are best. Although a decent emulator and 2 joypads probably do these days.
