I'm considering an all-in-one system (budget about £1000 excluding TV) to replace a good but ageing stereo hi-fi system . I'll watch some movies and lots of music DVDs, but good replay of an extensive audio CD collection is a must. Any ideas? Alan T.

I have (literally) installed the Jamo DV50 and 325 speaker set to replace a stand-alone Yamaha AV receiver and Yamaha DVD. I think its brilliant. Excellent sound, great picture and i love the modern look and feel of the DV50 unit. I am running the set on a Sanyo projector and i thinks its fantastic. I got the Jamo from progressive av, ask for Liam. They have some good deals.

for a 1000 pound id rather be considering seperates system rather than an all in one. a lot better quality will be had! probably wont be as asthetically pleasing as some All in one's but if its performance you want at the end of the day more can be had with 1k

have a look at something like this. this may be slightly over budget considering you will need a player, interconnects etc but well worth the money. have a browse at reviews of some things in your price rang and post in appropriate forums on here where more knowledgeable users can give more advice

also a budget player that meets your criteria http://www.creative-audio.co.uk/Pio575.htm

Personally i would look Second hand if cash is tigh £1000 is not a lot for a Surround system let alon a good hifi a system to do both £2k minimum really but as you can get a 42" PW6 for £2k then i would suggest you spliut budget more audio than visual as that is what you will be using.

I also have the JamoDVR50 with 325 speaker set up, sounds awsome now all setup and speakers mounted, picture quality is also excellent through componet to my PW6. I did toy with getting just the player and some Kef Eggs but money was an issue as i hadn't planned for a new system. Very happy though.
