Would appreciate any help in deciding what system to purchase.
I am mainly interested in watching DVD and playing X-box through the system.
I have had a look at the SonyDAV SA30, is this any good?
And also the JVC THA 35R.
Are there any other units which I should be considering? both these got good write ups in the Home Cinema Mag.

    Thanks

The JVC is better than the Sony you mention but the JVC doesn't play SACDs and also the JVC has a reported noisy fan. At the bottom end of the market the JVC does seem to be the best bet at the moment. If you wanted SACD and DVD Audio the new Pioneer NS-DV99 seems to be highly rated, well by What Hifi mag anyway.
