need a new desktop , all in one pc's waste of money or worth considering.used mostly for web browsing, some dvd ripping, must have decent sound as used for music collection .some casual gaming.large screen for tv viewing (must have tv card) withj good sized hard drive .
looking at lenovo ideacentre b520 at around £880 or the
h.p. touchsmart 520-1080uk for same sort of price.or should i go for a good tower and decent monitor with same sort of specs as the all in ones mentioned.

There are some all in ones that aren't a bad price but if you're looking for the best value for money you can't beat good standardised components. The initial price may not be all that much different (depending on the exact specs and when the all in one was last updated) but things like repairs and additions will be easier and cheaper.

How are you speakers/headphones connected? Analogue 3.5mm jacks? Coaxial S/PDIF? Optical S/PSIF (TOSLINK), HDMI, Something else? Or by 'decent sound' do you just mean something that doesn't sound tinny from the built in speakers?

Does the TV card need to handle aerial input (freeview) or satellite input (freesat)?
