    Hi guys gonna purchase av sales PW6 offer c/w scart board, wall bracket,
    plus add component board. Looking at Sony RDR-GXD 500 dvd recorder with freeview built in, which has component output, will this all work ok by feeding into component board on PW6, and then plug x box into scart input on dvd player.
    Or am i barking up the wrong tree :

    Usually this works, certainly does with the Panasonic DVD recorders. You actually need no boards for this, just a cable.

    cheers maw, would that be a cable, component to vga, so i can sava £60 on a component board,

    Exactly so, but note this is a PW6 trick only, they nobbled it on the 7 series.

    so the 7 series isnt as good as the 6 series?

    It's the only negative change, it makes it slightly more expensive to do a PW7 that's all. The PW6 you can do amazingly with a AV amp that upconverts video signals to component, like the Onkyo 602. Everything to the amp, and 1 cable to the screen.

    I have a Panasonic sa-xr 45 AV- Control receiver Does this upconvert video to component
