    hi,
    my first time on these forums and was wondering does anyone know if the r2 extras the same as the r1 cos want to buy it on splash using the £5 off voucher

    I would do a search for splash before doing anything hasty like giving them money! They have a reputation which is less than great, so much so that they were removed from the recomended retailers link on here.

    Looking at all the reports the R1 and R2 seem to be nearly the same.

    The only difference I have found seems to be that the R1 version is THX approved and the R2 version is not.

    Content seems the same. DTS only on Alien and Alien 3.

    I will be going for the R1 set to replace my R1 legacy box set.

    thanks for that cos looking at the offical release specs fox arnt as detailed on r2 as r1. Anyway after looking at other threads have ordered it from dvdsoon for just under £40 for the r1 version.bit of a bargain.:clap:

    We have the R2 set now for review and expect the R1 this week, so guess what? A comparison review is not far away, but, there is a review embargo in place by Fox (UK) who don't want any reviews (R2) released until December the 1st.
