I already have Alien R2 spec ed and Aliens R2 spec ed.
Now I'm in a right mess thinking what to do. Is it worth getting the new 2 disc promotional versions from play247 which has both for £16.99 but BOGOF so £16.99 for both! And Alien 3/Alien resurrection ie all 4 for £33.98. Are these promotional versions the same as the retail versions?
I'm assuming the new versions are the same extended editions as I already have (except for DTS on Alien). Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong.
Also there is an option with WHSmiths to deliver to your local store for NO P&P. I've used this everytime.
Further each WHSmiths store has its own URL which deducts 10% from everything so Alien Quadrilogy is £40.49 DELIVERED. So finally should I buy the Quad at this price. I thought Alien 3 was OK but I haven't seen the last one.
The new releases have 2 versions of each film on the disc mate so each Film Disc contains a version never seen before on DVD.
Alien has the original Cinema release and the recent Directors Cut, Aliens has the original Cinema release and the Special Edition, Alien 3 has the original Cinema release and a Workprint release with over 30mins of extra footage and Alien Resurrection has the original Cinema release and a version with a different start and ending.
Indiana - thanks - it looks like the spec ed is different to the new directors cut. I'm still torn as to whether to get the quad box or just to stick with the alien/aliens BOGOF from play247 for £16.99 and forget the last 2 inferior films. Are these promotional films the same as the retails?
