I've had two orderws from DVDsoon and they an OK company. Somebody has a thread at the moment about a missing disk and ignored emails, but I've had prompt and accurate responses from them (albeit in pigeon english - they are French Canadian).

they list seperatly the dual language covers and as the original poster says will ship free to the uk if your order is over 120 CAD$ (about £53). You can choose to ship a single parcel or for 1.60 CAD$ (about 67p) per disk they will split the delivery as and when they get in stock. The latter option is worth it as its likely to draw less attention by customs. If it does get stopped by customs they declare each disc as 12 CAD$ regardless of actual price of the disc including box sets so the duty will be a lot lower.

The only down sode for you Shoka is your lack of Credit Card. Do UK Debit cards work in Canada?

LOL, not to bothered about customs although its adds extra cost to the DVD it still works out cheaper than buying it in the UK.

Dvdsoon are excellent, very cheap prices. The only thing people don't like about them is french covers.
However, at the moment the group standard $3.98 shipping is taking 3-4 weeks for discs to arrive. BUT the $1 more $4.98 air shipping gets discs delivered in around 3-4 days. So use that. If you're gonna push the order above $100 to get free shipping then it will be the slower ground shipping. There's also a $10 coupon if you spend $100 or more, or a $5 coupon if you spend $75 or more.

Glad I held off as it will save me buying it all again and having to sell my other box set.

However I have the R1 with the extras disc which will probably be very rare over here as you had to use a voucher to send off for it and luckily I had a friend who lived over in Florida to do it for me. So it may be better to hang onto it anyway.

The price rise gives me even less incentive to buy the new set and although Aliens is probably in my top 5 films I resent having to buy them all again.

The 5th disc (that R1 owners had to send off for) was released as standard on the R2 and R4 releases of the Alien legacy Boxset.

Also once the Quadrilogy comes out with all its extra features the 5 disc Legacy will not be sought after by pretty much everyone.

You're better off selling it before it is released.

I sold my R2 Legacy boxset on Amazon marketplace for about £45 2 months ago and ordered the Quadrilogy from DVDSoon when it was on sale for $69.

$92 + $5 delivery is still only £44 which is a good price. Admittedly not as good as the previous price but still good.

If you hold on to the R1 Legacy with the hope of selling it on then the longer you leave it the less it will be worth.

As I said I have the R1 version, that will be rare over here in the UK as you had to have an American or Canadian address to be able to get it.
I know it was standard on the R2.

I understand what you're saying, but anyone who would be interested in the 5 disc R1 would be aware of the 9 disc R1 (when it is released or already) and as such will opt for the superior 9 disc boxset with director's commentaries, extra features, better audio options, etc. as opposed to the 5 disc just because it is rarer.
