    Hi,
I've got the chance to buy a Alien legacy R1 4disc set (think it's from 2000)
    for a good price,
anybody owns this set and can tell me about pic quality & sound quality?
How does it compare to the 9 disc set ( only PQ wise not the extras )

    thx,

The Quadrilogy set has much improved picture and sound for Alien, slightly improved picture quality for Aliens and i think same is true of the sound ( due to better compression not because a new print has been struck ) don't know about the last 2 films but i'm sure someone can tell you.

Yes, there is an alternative cut of Alien 3 in the Quadrilogy, but I haven't got round to watching them yet.

Overall the Quadrilogy is vastly better (with alternative versions of all four films) but there are some extras on the Legacy set which are not available on the Quadrilogy...
