I watched this last night on BBC4: it was a really interesting documentary about the BBC's Radiophonics unit (that, amongst other things, created the Dr Who soundtrack).

    Did anyone else watch this?

Who on earth was the chap who kept appearing in the background? He was seriously starting to freak me out, and they never mentioned who he was!

Damn!!! That means I've missed it again.

It was shown 3 times in one week about a month ago but I only managed to see the last 20 mins of the last showing and I didn't think BBC4 would show it again so soon.

From what I saw it was a very interesting programme.

The bearded man is David Dallison according to a message on the BBC4 forum.

That was such a excellent programme. It had a really weird, surreal edge to it, but still managed to be a skillful documentary.

Associated Rediffusion - more please Mr Smith

Does anyone know if it will be shown again any time soon as I only caught the last 30 mins by accident? I thought it was a cracking programme by the way!

I work in the film & animation department of an art, design & media institute & I'd love to record this programme to show to our sound design students. I think they'd find it really interesting to see what sound design involved before the advent of all the latest computer hardware & software.

    Any help appreciated. :)

It's not scheduled for the next 7 days according to the BBC website, but I'll keep an eye out for it. I'm sure it will be shown again.
