    Hi
hope this isnt a dumb question - posted it in the Apple section and go pointed to this form. I have a reasonably high quality hifi amp and speakers. The amp will happily receive an AirPlay stream from an iPad / iPod etc.

Just over the other side of the room, the sound quality on my TV is rubbish and i dont have room for sound bars, home cinema etc hard wired in that area.

So i was wondering if anything existed, a dongle / sender etc, that could be plugged into the audio output of non-airplay sources (eg a TV, a PS3, a Sky+ box) that would cause them to look like an AirPlay source, allowing me to route the audio to my hifi

Not that I can think of, and IMHO Airplay is OTT for your requirement for a point-to-point link.

Maplin do a product which will send audio over a wireless link, just hook to line-out of TV and line-in to amp. Hopefully you won't get lip-sync issues but voices coming from the other side of room to TV would be most odd - I'd think again.
