If you were flying mid-long haul and had the choice of flying on an Airbus A380-800 or a Boeing 777-300, which would you choose?

If you've flown on these planes, any noticable differences for an Economy traveller (may book with Emirates as they're having a decent airline and having a sale at the moment) re things like leg room/entertainment etc etc.

Makes little difference, more down to cabin service
    Emirates has good reputation
Check seats aren't right at the back, where they can't recline, or next to the toilets

The airframe makes no real difference to factors such as seat pitch. Seats can be designed differently and installed according to each airline's policy about how much pitch, aisle width (and hence lateral configuration) etc. Better, I think, to look at a site such as Airline Seating Charts - Best Airplane Seats - SeatGuru for specifics of your airline choices.

Went to NZ with an Emirates A380. Spacious, good seats, great entertainment. Best economy class I have ever used.

I flew with Emirates late last year, using the A380 outbound (MAN-DXB) and B777 inbound. The difference was (in my opinion) quite significant and given the choice I'd go for the A380 every time. They're a younger fleet, had a better entertainment system and were significantly quieter.

Well I booked my flight with Emirates on sunday night (to Singapore from Manc via Dubai).

1 x A380 and 1 x B777 there and back so will get to compare both.

The airline decides on fitting out - seat type, size and spacing etc. so I would say the airline's decision makes the difference as a apssenger.
Mind you, Airbus have been outselling Boeing for the last four years and the Dreamliner delays haven't helped.
