    Anyone else playing this?

Got it yesterday, used to love the originals on pc back in the day.

Plays well and looks good on console.

Still getting to grips with it, only done the tutorial and started the first campaign mission. Think I might need to redo the tutorial now I have a little better idea what I’m doing.

I have it but not started it yet as still in the middle of a game of Stellaris. Took me long enough to get my head around the mechanics of one 4X game without starting another just yet!

Will probably give it a go after my Stellaris campaign ends (probably not far away as getting my arse kicked in a prolonged war)

Like you used to love Age of Wonders and similar titles back in the day. Heard it reminded some of Heroes of Might and Magic with some design elements which was another favourite of mine back in the PC days when I had a lot more time for such in depth malarkey.

It's on my wish list - but I bought Stellaris when it was dirt cheap via Argentina a few months back and haven't started that yet (partly because i know just how much of an utter time sink it is going to be....), so like @Kravenius it will have to wait its turn!

Yeah, I grabbed Solaris in the brief window Argentina was available.

Took a good few YouTube tutorials to get my head around that one!

Got distracted by something else, so really need to go back to it. Supposedly the pc version (of Solaris) is an improvement but the console version is supposed to be brought up to speed with it at some point, so hopefully that can only make it better.

Back to AoW, I’ve now re-done the tutorial and restarted the campaign and I have a much better idea what I’m doing so making a little progress now.

It’s certainly very recognisable as an AoW game with a sci-fi spin if you’ve played the earlier ones.

I’ve heard it as Civ meets Xcom which is pretty much spot on and certainly no bad thing.

Indeee, the only reason I already have AoW is due to it being a dirt cheap preorder from Argentina when MS accidently left the window open briefly

Finally finished the first campaign mission, after my restart.

Loving it, now I’ve got a reasonable idea what I’m actually doing.

Still need to work our what production and research options are best for which situation.

Reckon I must’ve spent a good six or seven hours, maybe more, on just one mission, so this is definitely going to be a time sink :)
