    Hi All,
Hope this doesn't seem a silly question...but it's niggled me for ages!

Why do Sky Digiboxes have aerial in/out sockets on them?? (Phew, I feel better for asking that!)

I mean, surely it is better for the aerial to go direct into your DVD/Video Recorder or TV?? And it would be one less cable!

...or am I missing something....maybe the Digibox has a signal booster in it?

    Thanks,

    ~Phil.

The RF out is to get Sky on another TV. By using some co-ax cable you can pipe your sky pictures to another TV elsewhere and if you were to get a Magic Eye you can even change the channel on the 2nd TV.

Perhaps SKY thought there were enough people out there who still had TV's that had no scart sockets so making sure the digibox could accept a RF input and then not only pass it through but modulate it's own RF output that would cover all bases.

If you have sufficent scarts/s-video etc and not using the SKY RF to distribute pictures around the home then not including the digibox in the RF chain is the best idea.

Main reason would be because one or two people can only use the RF as they have old-skool TV's. lol.

I have no rf leads at all in my setup! yay for me i hear you cry!
