Is there any way to test my aerial cable to determine which room they go to?
I have 4 cables in loft going to 4 rooms in the house but unsure which is which.

    Depends what equipment you have.
Put a battery across each one in turn in the loft and go round the other ends with a multimeter.

Or, possibly connect each one in turn to an aerial and check the picture on a portable TV in each room. Easier if you still have analogue.

It sounds as if you're going to connect these cables to a 4 outlet distribution amplifier.

If so, does it actually matter which is which, as long as they all work! :)

If you have a meter or any kind of continuity tester, you can test all four to ensure they are open circuit to start with ... then add a shorting plug to each outlet in turn and test again to identify which cable belongs to that outlet.

Thanks for your comments. I have been in the loft and traced all the cables.
