Im wondering, out of everybody that has a flickering 700 is their anyone that has it right side up or is this a ceiling mount issue.

Just to clarify , only people with flicker on the 700 should vote. I am trying to establish whether the orientation of the pj effects the lamp. Please dont vote if your pj doesn't flicker.

Anyone know how to remove a vote from the poll, someone voted wrong and I need to remove it to keep an accurate representation.

Only 4 votes so far, one was me and another was a vote from someone with no flicker. I know that at least 7 of us have flickering 700's so come on guys let me know how you mount your pj.

I have had lamp flicker on a low shelf (2.5 ft) and now have it on a higher shelf (5.5 ft)... flicker is the same either way. Both right side up. High lamp mode. Normal fan mode.

Begining to look like orientation is not an issue with the flickering. Has anyone noticed the increasing number of people being told that their 700's are within operating parameters when they complain about the flicker, seems to me that the more people that complain about the problem the more panasonic seem to be denying it exists.

Ok now we definately know its nothing to do with which way up the pj is, at least thats one possible cause eliminated, how do we now eliminate the possible cause that panasonic are shipping sub standard units out to consumers, dont think a poll will be enough for this one.

thats what i was told by a panasonic helpline person after they sent my pj back to me and i found it was still flickering.

    ae500 here.

maybe we should get a consumer watchdog body involved in this?

out of curiosity, has anyone with any technical knowledge of these things who actually works in the trade seen the phenomena?

how's about us contacting What Hi Fi or some other consumer mag and getting them to take a look (if they are prepared to do so that is).

I've started to notice this on my 4805. I accidently pulled the power lead out the other day and since then I've noticed a slight flicker especially in darker scenes. I'm wondering if the sudden shut down has had an effect.
