I guess that depends on, amongst other things, what you are hoping to get from a 'huge' screen. Image quality or a cinematic experience.

If you are looking for quality alone then there is a chance you will be disappointed because any low resolution image (include DVD in this) blown up to a huge size will not generally be as good as the same image on a good 32" CRT set. Don't get me wrong, many of the pjs discussed here are simply awesome but if you look too closely or studiously you may begin to seem some failings. Try watching your TV from about 3 foot and see how different it looks from your normal viewing distance. You will begin to see the physical structure of the image , even on a CRT set.

Now, if you are looking for the cinematic experience then nothing outside of actually going to your local multiplex will deliver the same type of Wow! factor. And in many cases a home pj will deliver a 'better' image (and experience) than your local cinema.

Don't forget, when most people go to their local cinema they go to watch the film not to study the quality of the image. Image size, sound and ambience all contribute to the overall experience and that is what you will begin to get (or even surpass) with a pj and your own home cinema.

Believe all the people who have said it on these forums, if you have the space and the £££'s you will not regret getting your own pj. The AE300 or Z1 are fantastic entry levle pjs that will surpass your expectations and for the same money as a quality large screen CRT will give you way more value for your ££'s and a big smile on your face.

HTH. Best advice anyone can give to someone like yourself looking is go get an audition at your local 'specialist' AV store.

If you want to see what a projector can do then maybe you should go to the the home cinema showcase that retailer AV Sales is putting on in Tunbridge Wells next weekend. They are showing a whole host of projectors setup side by side so you will be able to see what a projected image looks like.

You can find more info here
