Though many of you might not suffer this problem yet, i was disturbed by the thread that mentioned an AE100 being damaged by heat from the lamp after about 2000 hours, when the lamplife is suppose to be 5000 hours in economy mode.

The problem seem to have been the blue LCD panel being damaged by the lamp heat.

If all LCD's suffers this, and will need repairs to fix it.........is it worth getting a LCD altogether....... i now have serious doubts.

Does DLP suffer the same fate ?

    Thanks

It wouldn't really concern me TBH. Yes the AE100 has had problems, but there's no evidence the AE300 will be similiar.

All PJs (both LCD & DLP) produce a hell of a lot of heat but it doesn't seem to cause many problems apart from the couple of AE100s mentioned here.

    Go get one......:)
