Can annyone tell me if the bottom of the Ae300 is the same as its older brother, the Ae100 as I am ordering my ceiling mount tomorrow, but I can only locate Ae100 plates.

    Thanks,

    Cap.

    Hi Captain...

I think i read somewhere that they will use the same mount, and that the location for the bolts underneith are indeed in the same place on both

    Cheers

BTW....how is the picture on the new AE300.....

So far , the picture on the Panny is superb.

I watched the region 1 edition of Star Trek - Nemesis earlier and it produced a lovely although interlaced image via component video.

Screen door is a non issue with the combination of the smooth technology and my seating position.

To be honest aside from the smooth screen the Panny and the Z1 are very very close.
Both have a wonderful dose of saturated colour, perfectly good blacks and a real depth to the image.
Although I would have been happy with a decent Z1, I think that overall, the lack of banding and the uniform colour probably edges it over the Z1. When I watched all three Z1's they all changed colour from left to right, something that the panny does not.

Not that I am slagging off the Z1, but I feel that my experiences over the last couple of weeks allow me to say this.

Of course, both machines edge the Sony HS2, which in retrospect was probably a panic buy on my part.

    Thanks for now,

    Captain Benefit.

    Hmmmm

LCD for the time being seems very tempting....

Anyone know if Panasonic has a successor to the AE300 ?

Other option i'm looking at is the TW100

Nope, you're never gonna buy are you. AE300 has been out just a few months and you're already asking about a 400.

Sounds like the Duke of Wellington close. Always looking for a reason not to :)

Just get on and buy one for goodness sake :smashin:

Good man. I've deliberated for ever on my replacement and now just can't wait to get the new one. Been through all the decisions. CRT, DLP, LCD, expensive, not so expensive, big, small and am now just soooooo glad the new one is on it's way.

Like others have said I will now just be able to get down to watching and enjoying some films rather than deliberating and pontificating. I feel so much better for it.

YOU WON'T REGRET IT. And you'll never know if you will until you do it so what are you waiting for :)

Messiah already knows, but just for the rest, that makes two of us :)

Also getting an LPX-500 and cannot wait! I am now officially "off the fence". Come on Fjorko... you know you want to...

Also, Price Japan are doing a good price on the Epson TW100H if you're that way inclined. Dropped 200$ between Friday and Saturday night.

Wrong way around, PriceJapan only take cash not credit card - direct deposit into an account!
