Just wondering if anyone here has had to return their AE100 to Panasonic for repair? Joking

OK, so my pj got collected last Thursday morning for repair (seems to be the common PSU problem), I was wondering how long people have generally waited before getting their toy back? On the phone the Panasonic chap said it should be dealt with quite quickly, but I'm not so sure how long that equates to in real terms...

Hopefully I'll have it back by the end of the week to watch the Australian GP :(

ISTR it took about one and a half weeks for me. Suppose it depends on what the current workload is

Well, given there's a load of people have just bought new AE100s, I'd say their workload is probably quite high at the moment

They've had mine since November !!!

Mine had colour uniformity problems rather than anything wrong with the PSU. Admittedly they did say I could have a new unit having had mine for a week or two but I'm still waiting.

I received a loan unit in the meantime and, to be honest, I think that has been the problem. The engineer at Panasonic had agreed to find me one with no dead pixels and no colour uniformity problems (It took him a couple of weeks to find one!!).

The courier company that Panasonic use then appeared to get very confused and after a month or two finally delivered it....to somebody else. I have now been told that another unit has been found for me and that I would have it within a couple of days. That was three weeks ago!

I'm now having a chat with those nice people at Visa to see what they fancy doing about it. I don't suppose I can complain too much - I've managed to rack up 300 odd hours on somebody else's bulb!

    Regards

    Richard

Mine had a colour problem in August by November I'd complained so much they gave me a new one.

They expected to get the spare part in December, 4 months after i'd taken it in!!!!

Just called Panasonic again - my projector is currently being "Smoke Tested", now, I work as a SW developer and we use that term for the testing done after something is completed, but the panny engineer seemed to think that this was their tests that go on before they carry out their work. I hope that he got it wrong and its already been fixed

Hmmm, just rang them again, it still hasn't been assigned to an engineer (they picked it up a week ago!). They are now going to take the rash move of contacting the repairt dpt. to get someone assigned to fix it

    What a novel idea!

sorry to hear that mate :(

i just took the afternoon off work yesterday to try her out.... WOWOWOWOW

the picture is a whopping 9ft wide and just looked fantastic.... wife came home later and we watched MI2 - she just sat there with a huge grin on her face the whole time :)

its only projecting onto the wall at the moment - but the colour is so vivid and the image really clear that i don't really see the point of a screen right now.... no hot-spotting to be seen or anything!!

anyone out there debating the panny 100 - forget the reliability - once the PSU is sorted its the mutz nutz

Well, not entirely true, that TATU video did look good on it

Well, my FLD and ProV both arrived this morning  but still no sign of my PJ.

Panasonic are going to phone me back by the end of the morning to let me know how the repair is going - oh look - it's afternoon already :thumbsdow

Just got my projector back  :D :smoke: :zonked:

1.41 hours.... wait for it.... power supply replaced :rotfl:

So the answer to my original thread question (in my case) is 13 days door to door.
