Just read this on Home Cinema newsgroup

"It does seem like the AE100 can be sensitive to not being shutdown
properly but on the bright side when they repair them they upgrade
capacitors in the psu section and this should make it more reliable
from them on. The ae100 has a universal power supply but it seems the
standard capacitors in the psu don't cope too well with uk voltages
once upgraded its ok. The ae100 doesn't seem to have the same
reliability problems in lower voltage countries."

When I bought my AE100, it came with a euro power cable. If this was used with an adapter could this reduce the risk of the PSU goig BOOM?

what sort of an adaptor? If you mean a 2 to 3 pin with nothing in between, i wouldnt see it making any difference. Its still the same voltage afterall

I was thinking along the lines of an adapter that would drop the voltage, but Im unsure if this is possible and the costs involved
