    Hi folks,

This is going to be very difficult to explain in writing but here goes!

I have a new Panasonic TH42PE50B and one strange thing that I have noticed is whilst watching it (any source, TV, DVD etc.) I notice, what can only be described as a green/yellow "flash" appear, usually with any fast movement on the screen.

Now, I'm pretty certain this is NOT a fault with the TV but it is my eyes that create this "image". If I look at the screen and blink or move my eyes quickly back and forth, that's when I notice this "flashing".

I've never noticed this before with any previous CRT TV's so my only assumption is that due to the large screen size (42" compared to my previous 32" CRT) and the fact that I sit only about four foot from the screen (I have a very small lounge!) that my eyes are reacting this way??

Told you it was hard to explain! Not sure if you know what I mean but has anyone else noticed this before????

I'm sure I will get used to it over time but it's a little irritating at present.

    Cheers.

I think it is called 'rainbows' I have seen them before on a projector, but not on a plasma - you are sitting way too close to a 42" screen, which is probably your problem. Move farther away, or, er, get used to it!

it may be a "rainbow" type artefact in which case changing ambient light will help as will setting contrast etc not sure what sort of settings the PE50 ships with, but if it is anything like the PE30 it will be dire, AND TAKE IT OUT OF DYNAMIC MODE

I only use the "Normal" mode and my contrast and brightness are at about 50%. i get the "rainbow" effect with the room either in total darkness (my preferred method) or with the lounge lights on.

Maybe it is because I am sitting too close but unfortunately, this cannot be changed as my sofa is already back against the wall!
