    Hi,

I have just hooked up my new 868 to my SIM2 30H via HDMI.

Any suggestions on the best performance ~ I pressume that 720 is that way to go with the SIM2 set to pixel to pixel aspect ratio?

    Or, should I consider 1080i?

Currently set to above (720, pixel to pixel) and is simply :D Yep, it really is that good. In fact I cannot believe it..... :lesson:

    Thanks.

    Captain Benefit.

    Hi Cap,

You are on the right track.

Selecting 1280 x 720 on the 868 and Pixel to Pixel on the Domino 30H is the way to go.

There's a lot of settings in the Pioneer Video Adjust Menu. Most of them can stay at the default setting but you may want to up the chroma level a couple of points and have a play with the Pure Cinema setting which has 4 settings: AUTO1, AUTO2, ON and OFF. I tend to use ON most of the time but sometimes AUTO1.

There's a good test at the begining of chapter 7 of MIB II which is a night exterior of a diner with lots of neon lights that shimmer badly if the Pure Cinema is not correctly set.

Under HDMI Color Adjust leave the setting as Standard and the HDMI detail at Default.

Thw Avia Widescreen Enhanced test pattern is useful for checking the Sharpness and Detail settings.

    Hope this helps

Jeff, as you know, I am far from a tweaker. What does chroma do/offer?

    Cheers,

    Cap :)

    Hi Cap,

The Chroma adjustment is for setting the intensity of colour.

I find the default setting on the 868 just a tad low and usually up it a couple of points.
