Im considering purchasing an LCD TV from BT Shop.com. They have advised that if I wish to return it within 7 days as I dont like it then they will collect it from me at a cost of £17.95 plus VAT.

Ebuyer only charges £5 for the same service !

My (perhaps a little naughty) question is this....

If I was to order the TV then decide I didnt like it, I could claim that there was an intermittent fault on the screen, and BT Shop would collect it from me for free. But how likely are they to actually thoroughly test the set for an "intermittent fault" before issuing a refund ? I basically would like to avoid paying over £20 to return the item - £5 I think is reasonable, but £20 seems a lot (more than the delivery charge of most retailers !).

Im fairly sure BTshop links through to Dabs.com - so if anyone has any comments/experience of returning items to Dabs it would probably be relevant ?

    Thanks.

BT Shop and Dabs both belong to BT.
The RTB from Dabs is excellent, I have used it. But why would you want to send the TV back, it's as if you have already decided it is no good.

What did they charge you for delivery?

Surely then can only charge you no more than what you paid them for the same service!

...unless it was free delivery that is!
    :D

I'd actually say that £18(ish) isn't that bad for a large item really.

What TV's are you looking at?
Can you not go to a good dealer to check out?
