Hi there, I need some advice....

I want to buy a digital camcorder and am wondering which one I should buy. Money isn't an issue because I believe you get what you pay for. I am keen on getting the best value one around and am wanting one that I won't have to change in a few months/years. Also the opportunity to edit, clear nightvision and other features are important.

    What would you suggest?

I thank you in advance. ;)

There are other considerations. Size and weight for instance. In any case you should be looking at the higher end models from Sony, Canon and possibly Panasonic.

If size isn't an issue, bigger and heavier usually equals easier to hold still nad beter for tripod work.

Some of the features you should be looking for:

3 CCD chips are better than one for video.

An optical image stabiliser is generally superior to a digital one.

A lot will depend on what you want to do with it. Happy snaps, events e.g. weddings or documentary / drama.

    Hope this helps a little.
