Hi all,

I am planning on buying an entry level plasma at the weekend.

I have a budget of £600.00

I have been considering the Sammy PS42A457 or the LG42PG3000.

Which one would be better? Or any other?

I will be using it for Sky SD at first, but will be getting Sky+HD soon.

Advice welcomed:lease:

Cheers

I'd go for the Panasonic TX-P42X10 instead of both of the ones you've mentioned.

Panasonic TXP42X10B - £588

£588 @ RGB Direct, but shop around as you may get a better deal somewhere else.

Thos are last years models.
Look at the LG 42PQ6000 or the Panny P42X10.
Correction:
Look at the [-]LG 42PQ6000[/-] Panny 42x10b:devil:

I've got one myself yesterday, and am very pleased with it. :suicide:
Especially for SD it's good, and isn't prone to Image retention.

:thumbsup:Pana TX-P42X10B Gets a vote from me:thumbsup:

As above, either the X10 or PQ6000, there's very little in terms of quality between them, both are the best for the money in my opinion. Personally I prefer the LG ever so slightly, largely due to the expert picture controls, but it's a close call. Get the Panasonic if you're going to be doing anything which causes image retention a lot, otherwise it shouldn't be a problem on the LG for regular TV/movies/mild-ish gaming
