Not that well up on what's available these days so some advice would be appreciated.

Need a new 37" to 40" TV for my elderly Aunt that includes Freeview via aerial and if possible has an inbuilt recording device?

There's no internet access so it doesn't have to be anything "smart" just a good solid TV.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

Sony 40RE453 would be perfect, listed as a best buy here: My best value TVs, 2017 Edition

It supports recording if you hook up an external HDD and has no smart TV, although its recording functionality will be limited compared to a dedicated PVR box. You can only record one program at a time and you might not be able to use series record.
